The Help (Niceville in Swedish), by Kathryn Stockett
This is a novel about black domestic servants working for white families. It takes place in the American south in the 60's, when the civil right movement just started. As a reader you get to follow different characters, both black and white. You really get to know them and their very different lives. The book is now also a film and you can read about it here I can really recommend this book. I liked it immediately and could hardly put it down when I'd started reading it. Its funny, sad, exciting and makes you think about mean people can be sometimes. I suggest that you read the book in Swedish since the language contains a lot slang that are a bit difficult to understand!
